| Very steep looking crag with various widths of crack on the main face and a stonking arete on the southern edge. Some large boulders (house sized!) guard the lower flanks. | OS Map Ref 241 001 Located on the west flank of Loch Long approx 1 or 2 miles south of Arrochar (or eastern slope of Cnoc Cnoinnich). The glaringly obvious prow jutting out high up the hillside when driving past the Cobbler. Take the track past the Ardgarten visitor centre at the entrance to Glen Croe and follow this to a car park after 1 or 2 miles. Walk south along the forestry track and take the 2nd on the right (approx 15-20 mins). Follow this up a hill and then northwards until the track peters out at a grassy slope(another 15mins?). Walk up the slope and then turn southwards, following the treeline. The crag should now be obvious. If you cant see it then you are lost and I cant help you any further. | E6/7 6b? Takes the obvious arete on the southern edge of the main crag. Mostly bold and technical wall climbing on the left side of the arete in stunning positions. Start directly under the arete at a corner, climb the wall a few metres to the right before gaining the corner. Follow this until a ramp is gained and up the blocks to a resting niche, Camalot 3.5 or 4. Step left onto the wall, up a bit and then right onto the arete before reaching the hanging groove below the top niche (very bold, possible to hit the ramp from here...). From the niche and a big flat hold above this climb straight up on pockets. Advisable to pre-place belay rope from flat boulders 30-40 back on top of crag, unless you like heather belays. | ||||||
